Patrizia Masserini

Patrizia Masserini was born in 1960 in Gazzaniga (Bergamo). From 1978 on she has held one-man and group exhibitions in several galleries and culture centers, enjoying general public and critique esteem. Her works are in public and private collections such as:
  • the Istituto Negri, Bergamo
  • Volksuniversiteit, Rotterdam
  • Staats Universitatsbibliothek, Amburgo
  • Ospedali Riuniti, Bergamo
  • ...
She has produced two large mural works at Dossena (Bergamo) in 1982 and at Villa di Serio (Bergamo) in 1983.

She had been art teacher for several years at the School of Art "A. Fantoni" (Bergamo), then she left to devote herself entirely to painting.

Prizes
Patrizia Masserini won several prizes, we can point out:
  • 1st prize "City of Trieste" in 1982
  • important prizes at the "Rassegna nazionale Santhià" in 1985, 1986 and 1995
  • she was acknowledged among the best artists at the 2nd, 3rd, 4th "Premio Murano" in 1987, 1989 and 1991
  • prize at the first "Rassegna d'arte siciliana", Vittoria (Ragusa) in 1994
  • the work of the artist was also appreciated at the Prize "City of Ravenna" in 1994
Texts and Publications
Worth reporting the publication "Parola e immagine" printed in March 1986 with poems by David Maria Turoldo and graphic work by Patrizia Masserini, presented in "ProVertova" (Bergamo) and next also in Trento.

Shows
In 1992, in Bergamo the exhibition "Uomo del mio tempo" (My days' man): homage to David M. Turoldo, poems and paintings, with the collaboration of the center of ecumenical studies at Fontanella and under the sponsorship of "Assessorato alla Cultura della Provincia". In 1993 her show "Paesaggi improbabili" (Improbable landscapes), sponsored by the environment and territory council office of Bergamo, has been welcomed for the subject treated and the originality of the works exhibited. In 1995 the show "Women" for the importance of the works exhibited, was broadcast on Bergamo TV.
